Inside Out was commissioned to develop a new lounge space for their long time client, No. 1 Traveller, and help them extend the No. 1 brand to Scotland.

The Edinburgh Airport No. 1 Traveller Lounge opened in April of 2014 to offer this growing airport a much-needed hospitality service.  The Edinburgh lounge, like others in the past, was to have the traditional No. 1 amenities and comfort, but to now be offered with a Scottish twist.

The smell of fresh heather, splashes of tartan and the texture and colour of classic Edinburgh stone can be seen and felt throughout the lounge.

The 330 m2 space offers a variety of areas for customers to relax in, from an airy  triple-height lounge flooded with light from upper storey windows to more intimate spaces at the bar and bistro.

A wide variety of bespoke furniture and joinery was designed to fully realise the vision of the lounge.  Upon entry, one is greeted by an open reception table that conveys the inviting attitude of the lounge staff and a short term ‘touch down’ service is provided at an integrated seating, data and information hub near the entrance for travellers with a limited amount of time.
