Inside Out Architecture is a full service architectural practice, specialising in traditional forms of procurement to provide a quality end result. Each project is given a dedicated Project Architect who will work in close contact with a Project Director to ensure a consistency of service and delivery.
Most of our projects follow the standard RIBA Plan of Work, divided into work stages from initial consultations to final certification, which aids clients in understanding the specific services they are receiving. Our clients often appoint us for the full design process through to completion, which allows the greatest level of continuity, understanding and value for money, but some clients also choose to appoint us for specific tasks or on a stage by stage basis. We suggest that each appointment is tailored to the specific needs of a project.
We have undertaken residential projects all over the UK, from Moray to Hastings and are currently involved in a number of extensions, refurbishments and new builds, as well as a variety of mid-sized multi-unit housing developments.
From office refurbishments to high-end retail and hospitality projects, we have cross-sector experience in private commercial design, including award winning lounges for No1 Traveller.
Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas
We have experience working with Listed Buildings and projects in Conservation Areas, including renovations and extensions of existing buildings and even new build houses.
As our practice has grown, so has the scale of our work, but we have alsways been a practice closely linked to the life, culture and unique requirements of city-based architecture.
Many of our projects, including some of our largest to date, are interior fit-outs, where we seek to turn generic spaces into captivating places.
Our experience with interiors has helped us to develop a talent for designing bespoke furniture and joinery pieces, and unique products as required by clients.
We have a proven track record of acquiring planning permission for projects, even on the most complex of sites. It is our aim to achieve success through well considered design that meets the concerns of the planners in a contemporary and appropriate way, and by establishing a mutually respectful dialogue with local planning officers.
As traditional architects, we are commited to represent a client through to the completion of the project, protecting their interests and maintaining design quality during the construction period. As professionals, we are also qualified to act as impartial contract administrators, providing a conduit for discussions and negotiations between clients and contractors.
Modelling is an integral part of architectural design that has undergone a digital revolution in the past 20 years. At IOA, we have a wealth of in-house physical and digital model making experience.
The feasibility or appraisal stage is the initial stage in the RIBA Plan of Work for all projects, establishing the viability and direction of the project. As many prospective clients are unsure if they would like to proceed with a full project, we offer feasibility studies as an initial isolated exercise.
