While work was progressing on a sizable lounge at London Heathrow T3, Inside Out were appointed to design another major No1 Traveller Lounge at London Gatwick International Airport.

While similar to its Heathrow sibling in many ways, the Gatwick North lounge is only half its size and had to achieve its ambitions with much tighter financial and spatial constraints.   One of the key features of No1's lounges, and a key component in their commercial success, is the variety of space types and functions contained within each lounge, allowing individual visitors to find a pocket of the lounge that suits their mood and personality best.   This approach led Inside Out to retain many of the space types from the Heathrow project, reimagined on a smaller scale to suit this particular site.

A lounge, bar, games room, conference room, meeting rooms, indoor garden bistro, spa, tv room and even a cinema were all included in an efficient free-flowing layout.   Bespoke joinery pieces were designed in the distinct No1 style, defining specific areas within the larger lounge, and custom furniture pieces provided a flexible layout that could adapt with the ever-changing requirements of the airport.
