The newly refurbished and extended lounge in Gatwick’s South Terminal is the smaller sibling to that of the North Terminal. Smaller in scale, it is more delibrately a hospitality lounge with the capacity to house other functions.   Placed along double-height glazed curtain walling, the lounge bathes in daylight.

Atmospheric variety was created when the lounge expanded up onto a mezzanine level, containing a more subdued spaces away from the busier entry level below.   From working with No.1 Traveller, Inside Out has gained an understanding of how to design for an airport environment.

Every airport project reuses existing space, existing structure.   It is a reimagining and adaptation of space, stiching a design into a wider collaborative community of business and spaces. The terminal at Gatwick South, developed and expanded in phases, truly embodied this pragmatic design philosophy.
